b. 1949, Krakow, graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, educator, received the title of professor in 1992, was rector of his alma mater from 2008-2012. In 1993 he received the award of the Minister of Culture and Art for outstanding artistic and pedagogical achievements, and in 2012 the award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for his contribution to the development of higher art education.
He works in painting, drawing and design graphics. Author of the painting series "Matnia" (since 1972); "Phenomenon" (since 1974); "Unknown City" (since 1979); "Self-Portrait" (since 1979); "Presence" (since 1984); "Felek and I" (since 2003). He participated in about 200 exhibitions in Poland and many countries of the world. He had more than 50 solo exhibitions, including in Krakow, Warsaw, Poznan, Wroclaw, Berlin, New York, Prague, Paris, Nuremberg and Kiev. He has received more than 20 awards in painting, drawing and poster competitions; in 1991 he received the award of the Minister of Culture and Art of the Republic of Poland for outstanding artistic and teaching achievements, and in 2012 the award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for his contribution to the development of higher art education.
In 1981/82, he spent six months in the US on a Kosciuszko Foundation scholarship, earning a Ford & Rockefeller Foundation scholarship there.
He is the faithful master of the rough-haired dachshund Felk the Third.
